Job Title:

Job Title: Utility Locate Technician – Level 1

Job Summary:
As a Utility Locate Technician Level 1, you will be responsible for the accurate, safe, and efficient locating and marking of underground utilities. This role plays a critical part in preventing damage to infrastructure and ensuring the safety of excavation and construction activities. You will be expected to maintain a high standard of quality and precision so that clients and contractors can operate with full confidence in the location of underground utility lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field work to locate and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment
  • Ensure all locates are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with company and industry standards
  • Read and interpret utility maps, drawings, and work orders
  • Communicate clearly with contractors, clients, and team members regarding utility locations
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of completed work
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working in various environments

Training and Development:
You will receive comprehensive training from Central Florida Locating, Inc., including hands-on instruction in the use of the latest utility locating technology and equipment. Ongoing support will be provided to ensure continued skill development and job proficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening
