Job description

The Systems Analyst manages assigned operating systems and networks. The Systems Analyst is responsible for coordinating the installation, upgrades and maintenance of assigned application software and operating systems. The Systems Analyst provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of client/server systems. The Systems Analyst analyzes client/server requirements to ensure the system meets performance needs. The System Analyst recommends technology purchases that will support and enhance the client/server system.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or other field of study; or equivalent required experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
 

Experience:

Two (2) years experience (with bachelors degree), Five (5) years experience (with associate degree), Seven (7) years experience (with no degree) managing operating systems administration and programming micro, mainframes, network technologies and databases.
 

Skills:

Working knowledge of operating systems, application software, programming languages, network technologies and design/development.  Knowledge of database management, PC applications and user education program development.  Excellent time-management and organization skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
 

  • Manages assigned operating systems and networks.
    • Coordinates the installation, upgrades and maintenance of assigned application software and operating systems.
    • Provides back-up procedures for operations of systems and networks.
    • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network problems.
    • Maintains equipment failure and disaster recovery procedures for applications and networks.
    • Issues advanced notifications of any extended system downtimes or extended interruption of operations.
    • Researches emerging technologies for continuous improvement for operating systems.
    • Supports HL7 interface messaging between various systems.
  • Supports maintenance of assigned applications and system users.
    • Consults with business users to identify needs, opportunities for improvements, and enhancements to systems and networks.
    • Supports assigned applications to promote optimal functionality, including documenting, and analyzing change requests.
    • Participates in change management, communication, report initiatives and provides optimal customer service.
    • Provide advanced technical support for database administration and SQL development on assigned networks.
