Job description

Quality Assurance & Product Content Specialist
Position Purpose
PROtect has in-house developed software that is instrumental for how we manage and produce our inspection reports. SHIELD is also sold to external clients to manage their asset inspections and is a key part of our overall growth strategy.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) & Product Content Specialist to join our software development team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications while also contributing to user documentation and product-related marketing content. The ideal candidate has a strong QA background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving user experience through clear documentation and well-tested software.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for new features and product releases.
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing of web and mobile applications.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
  • Work closely with developers and product stakeholders to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
  • Participate in sprint planning and product reviews to ensure quality is considered throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help improve QA processes, testing standards, and release quality.

Documentation & Help Content
  • Create and maintain user help documentation for existing and new application features.
  • Develop clear guides, tutorials, and release notes to help users understand product capabilities.
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure documentation stays current with product changes.

Product & Marketing Content
  • Assist with creating product-focused content such as feature descriptions, product updates, and release summaries.
  • Support the marketing team by translating technical features into clear, user-friendly messaging.
  • Contribute ideas for showcasing product capabilities through demos, walkthroughs, or knowledge base articles.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
  • Experience testing web applications and APIs.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing clear technical documentation or user guides.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with bug tracking and QA management tools (Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
