Position:
Cashco has an opening for a Technical Writer on-site at our Houston location.
Summary:
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports valve products, manufacturing processes, and customer applications. This position works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management teams to develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for internal and external stakeholders. The Technical Writer translates complex technical information into easily understood manuals, procedures, and support materials while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation for valve products and manufacturing operations.
  • Create user manuals, installation instructions, operating procedures, service guides, troubleshooting documents, and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, manufacturing personnel, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Translate complex engineering and manufacturing concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
  • Maintain consistent formatting, style, and branding across all technical documentation.
  • Review and update existing documentation to reflect product changes, engineering revisions, regulatory requirements, and customer feedback.
  • Participate in product development and engineering review meetings to identify documentation needs for new and existing products.
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates and standards.
  • Manage document revisions, version control, and document storage systems.
  • Ensure technical documents comply with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and company procedures.
  • Create and update training materials, presentations, and instructional content for employees, distributors, and customers.
  • Develop customer-facing technical support materials including FAQs, data sheets, and reference guides.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve documentation processes and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Strong written, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred:
