Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer III to support technical documentation, publication development, editing, quality control, and communication activities. The position will serve as a liaison between internal customers and support service providers while coordinating document production, technical content, publication standards, and project deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of technical writing, editing, publication, or documentation experience, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the liaison between customers and support service providers, including:
    • Graphic design
    • Typing and document processing
    • Editing and proofreading
    • Quality control
    • Printing and production services
    • External vendors
  • Coordinate and oversee documentation and publication work to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Communicate project status to clients and adjust workloads or request additional resources based on project requirements.
  • Review, edit, proofread, and coordinate production of technical publications in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Create, maintain, and update:
    • User manuals
    • Technical manuals
    • Online help systems
    • Training materials
    • Technical documentation
  • Ensure accuracy, readability, consistency, and overall quality of printed and electronic publications.

  • Coordinate publication assembly, formatting, print quality, and final production.
  • Collaborate on the planning, design, development, and deployment of new publications, reports, web content, and revisions to existing materials.

  • Provide research, writing, editing, document consultation, development, and design support to internal clients.
  • Oversee and support various communication platforms, including web-based tools, Watts Up, survey utilities, and selected SharePoint sites.
  • Compile and produce reports and assist with tabulation and analysis of survey data.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand technical requirements and product details.
  • Research, write, edit, and proofread technical information to create clear and concise content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technical writing, editing, documentation, publishing, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong technical writing, editing, proofreading, and document-development skills.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple documentation or publication projects.
  • Strong ability to organize information from multiple technical and business sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to document accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and customer requirements.
