What is a user generated content creator?

A User Generated Content (UGC) Creator is someone who produces original content—such as videos, photos, reviews, or social media posts—about a brand, product, or service, typically as a consumer rather than a traditional influencer. UGC Creators are often hired by companies to make authentic, relatable content that resonates with their target audience. Unlike influencers, UGC Creators focus on storytelling and real-life experiences rather than growing a large personal following. Their content is used by brands in marketing campaigns to build trust and increase engagement. UGC is highly valued because it appears more genuine and trustworthy to potential customers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a user generated content creator?

To thrive as a User Generated Content Creator, you need strong storytelling abilities, creativity, and a solid understanding of digital platforms, typically supported by experience in content creation or digital marketing. Familiarity with video and photo editing tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) and knowledge of major social media platforms are essential. Excellent communication, adaptability, and audience engagement skills help creators stand out in a competitive landscape. These skills are crucial for producing authentic, high-quality content that resonates with audiences and drives engagement for brands or communities.

How do user generated content creators typically collaborate with marketing and product teams?

User Generated Content Creators often work closely with marketing and product teams to align their content with brand goals and messaging. They may participate in brainstorming sessions, receive briefs outlining campaign objectives, and provide feedback on what resonates with audiences. Regular communication ensures that their content supports product launches, promotions, and community engagement strategies. This collaborative structure helps creators stay informed about upcoming initiatives and produce relevant, impactful content.

Full-time

Re-posted 22 days ago

Job description

As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer on the Marketplace team, you will architect and scale the applications powering Roblox's Avatar Marketplace-the core digital storefront driving one of the largest virtual economies globally. This ecosystem facilitates self-expression for hundreds of millions of monthly active users and manages a catalog of hundreds of millions of items, serving as a primary revenue engine for both Roblox and our global community of User-Generated Content (UGC) creators. This is a high-leverage, high-impact role where you will design, build, and optimize cross-platform UI/UX across iOS, Android, Xbox, and cutting-edge VR platforms. If you are an expert at developing user facing applications and are passionate about user experience, you will be right at home with us!

You will:

  • Own high-traffic, mission-critical surfaces visited by millions of users daily. Your code will directly influence user engagement, retention and bookings.
  • Architect and build marketplace experiences that drive discovery and monetization for a booming ecosystem of independent creators and brands.
  • Partner with Product, Design and Data Science teams to run A/B tests, analyze user interactions, and continuously optimize the purchase funnel to maximize business impact.
  • Take ownership and drive projects throughout their full lifecycle.

You Are:

  • Experienced: You've worked on intricate user facing applications and have experience with frameworks to build end to end applications.
  • Passionate about UX: You're dedicated to creating exceptional user experiences that resonate with millions of users.
  • Analytical: You're experienced at analyzing user interactions to optimize impact.
  • Adaptable: You're comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone to explore new technologies.
  • Collaborative: You excel at working in teams, inspiring others, and driving projects collectively.

You Have

  • 3+ years of experience building responsive, complex user interfaces at scale.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, React Native, or similar).
  • Strong intuition for user experience - you notice when something feels off and you know how to fix it.
  • Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, and using data to inform product decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Bonus: Experience with e-commerce, monetization platforms, or personalization systems.
