What is a user generated content creator?

A User Generated Content (UGC) Creator is someone who produces original content—such as videos, photos, reviews, or social media posts—about a brand, product, or service, typically as a consumer rather than a traditional influencer. UGC Creators are often hired by companies to make authentic, relatable content that resonates with their target audience. Unlike influencers, UGC Creators focus on storytelling and real-life experiences rather than growing a large personal following. Their content is used by brands in marketing campaigns to build trust and increase engagement. UGC is highly valued because it appears more genuine and trustworthy to potential customers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a user generated content creator?

To thrive as a User Generated Content Creator, you need strong storytelling abilities, creativity, and a solid understanding of digital platforms, typically supported by experience in content creation or digital marketing. Familiarity with video and photo editing tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) and knowledge of major social media platforms are essential. Excellent communication, adaptability, and audience engagement skills help creators stand out in a competitive landscape. These skills are crucial for producing authentic, high-quality content that resonates with audiences and drives engagement for brands or communities.

How do user generated content creators typically collaborate with marketing and product teams?

User Generated Content Creators often work closely with marketing and product teams to align their content with brand goals and messaging. They may participate in brainstorming sessions, receive briefs outlining campaign objectives, and provide feedback on what resonates with audiences. Regular communication ensures that their content supports product launches, promotions, and community engagement strategies. This collaborative structure helps creators stay informed about upcoming initiatives and produce relevant, impactful content.

Job Description

Creative Labs is Cricut's internal startup focused on building the future of creative tools, marketplaces, and AI-powered experiences.

Our team operates independently from the core Design Space organization and is focused on rapidly launching new digital products that expand Cricut into a broader creative ecosystem. Current initiatives span creative AI experiences, digital content marketplaces, creator ecosystems, and emerging creative platforms.

We move quickly, operate with high autonomy, and work across product, AI, marketplace, and creative technology spaces.

The Role:

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager who thrives in zero-to-one environments and wants to help invent entirely new creative products.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role with significant ownership and autonomy. You will help identify opportunities, define product strategy, deeply understand user needs, and drive products from concept through launch and iteration.

The ideal candidate is a strong product builder with strategic instincts. Someone who can think like a GM while still operating hands-on with design, engineering, AI tools, research, and execution details. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys startup-style product development but wants the scale, stability, and reach of an established consumer platform.

You should be equally comfortable:

  • talking directly with users
  • shaping product strategy
  • defining UX flows
  • building rapid prototypes
  • working through technical implementation details
  • analyzing business opportunities
  • making fast product tradeoff decisions

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys startup-style product development but wants the scale, stability, and reach of an established consumer platform.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead zero-to-one development of new creative products, marketplaces, and AI-powered experiences
  • Drive product strategy, roadmap definition, prioritization, and execution
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, research, and leadership teams
  • Conduct user research and synthesize insights into product direction
  • Rapidly prototype and validate new product ideas using modern AI and product tools
  • Define user flows, product requirements, success metrics, and launch plans
  • Work across both business strategy and technical implementation details
  • Help shape monetization, marketplace, and engagement strategies
  • Operate with high autonomy in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
  • Move quickly from concept to execution with minimal process overhead
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Experience building and launching consumer digital products
  • Strong zero-to-one product instincts
  • High ownership and bias toward action
  • Strong systems thinking and product judgment
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
  • Comfortable operating across technical, creative, and business domains
  • Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Technical fluency and comfort working closely with engineers
  • Curiosity about AI tools, creative technology, and emerging consumer behaviors
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and resourceful
  • Collaborative, low-ego, team-oriented mindset
Additional Information

A Quick Note Before You Apply...
Cricut is in a powerful chapter of transformation. We're evolving fast-refining our strategy, growing our teams, and raising the bar across the board. This is an incredible opportunity for the right kind of person-but it's not for everyone.
We're looking for A-players-people who don't just meet expectations, but consistently exceed them. If you thrive in dynamic environments and find joy in turning challenges into momentum, keep reading.
Here's what makes someone a great fit for this role (and for this moment at Cricut):
You have a bias for urgency.
You don't wait for perfect clarity to take action-you start, learn, and adjust. You believe that speed matters, especially when paired with thoughtfulness. You ask: "What can move forward today?" and push past inertia.
You set high standards-especially for yourself.
You're proud of your work and protective of your reputation. You take ownership, deliver quality, and don't cut corners. You hold yourself accountable without waiting to be asked.
You stay focused when things are moving fast.
You can identify what really matters and don't get distracted by noise. You prioritize well, and manage your time wisely.
You collaborate like a pro.
You elevate the people around you, communicate clearly, and give thoughtful feedback. You're low ego, high output-and your team loves working with you.
