Contract Video Content Creator information

What is a contract video content creator?

Contract Video Content Creators are professionals hired on a temporary or project basis to produce video content for businesses, organizations, or individuals. They are responsible for tasks such as filming, editing, and sometimes scripting videos that meet specific client needs. Unlike full-time employees, contract creators typically work independently, manage their own schedules, and are paid per project or over a defined period. Their work can range from social media videos to commercials, tutorials, or event coverage.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a contract video content creator?

To thrive as a Contract Video Content Creator, you need proficiency in video production, editing, storytelling, and a solid understanding of visual communication, often backed by a portfolio demonstrating your work. Familiarity with editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and motion graphics tools such as After Effects is typically required. Strong creativity, time management, and the ability to collaborate with clients and teams set standout creators apart. These skills are crucial for producing engaging, high-quality content that meets client objectives and project deadlines in a competitive market.

What are common challenges faced by contract video content creators when working with multiple clients simultaneously?

Contract Video Content Creators often juggle several projects at once, each with distinct brand guidelines, deadlines, and creative expectations. Managing time efficiently and maintaining clear communication with clients is essential to avoid scope creep and ensure timely delivery. Additionally, adapting your creative process to fit various client feedback styles and approval workflows can be challenging but is crucial for building strong professional relationships and delivering high-quality content.

What is the difference between Contract Video Content Creator vs Freelance Video Producer?

Job description

Senior Content Creator
About ZAGG Brands
At ZAGG Brands, we are at the forefront of innovation - empowering mobile lifestyles in an ever-evolving world. As the creators of trusted brands like mophie and ZAGG, we deliver premium solutions that keep devices connected, protected, and looking their best. From cutting-edge portable power to industry-leading screen protection and durable phone cases, our products are designed for modern, on-the-go living.
Our culture is rooted in innovation, creativity, and continuous growth. We don't just respond to industry trends - we set them. If you're passionate about shaping the future of mobile technology, come join us in an environment where your ideas are valued, your potential is limitless, and your contributions make a real impact.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a high-energy, entrepreneurial Content Creator who is obsessed with great storytelling and has a natural instinct for what makes content stop people mid-scroll. This is a key contributor role in our drive to create best-in-industry content across social media, paid social, display advertising, on-site, rep training platforms, and beyond.
You bring a strong point of view on what great content looks like. You're a tastemaker. You understand how to connect emotionally with consumers through compelling visuals and narrative - creating content people don't just watch, but share. You're naturally curious about emerging platforms, formats, and technologies, including AI-powered content tools, and you're always experimenting with new ways to tell stories and drive engagement.
You'll collaborate closely with our creative, digital marketing, brand, and product marketing teammates and report to the Associate Creative Director, Photo & Video.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Storytelling
  • Lead the ideation and production of compelling photo, video, and mixed-media content across social media, paid social, display ads, on-site pages, product launch campaigns, installation videos, and training content.
  • Bring a tastemaker's perspective - champion creative excellence and push the work to be scroll-stopping, share-worthy, and brand-right.
  • Develop strong narrative arcs and storytelling frameworks that connect consumers emotionally with our products and brands.
  • Stay ahead of content trends across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms - and proactively bring fresh ideas and formats to the team.
  • Explore and integrate AI-powered content tools and technologies to innovate, scale, and elevate our content capabilities.

Production & Execution
  • Shoot and edit high-quality photo and video content with a keen eye for composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.
  • Build and maintain a roster of on-screen talent and collaborators to bring productions to life.
  • Ensure all content is polished, on-brand, and optimized for each platform and format.

Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Track engagement metrics, views, and performance data on prior work - and use those insights to sharpen future content.
  • Regularly review and iterate on content with the Associate Creative Director to continuously raise the creative bar.
  • Champion a test-and-learn mindset: always experimenting with new hooks, formats, and storytelling techniques.

Collaboration & Brand Consistency
  • Partner closely with digital marketing, brand and product marketing teams, and channel partners to translate business goals into standout creative.
  • Shoot consistently within established brand styles across both ZAGG and mophie brands.
  • Work with project managers to meet deadlines and manage multiple concurrent projects with ease.
What You Bring
Required
  • 5+ years of experience as a content creator, ideally in-house at a product or consumer brand.
  • Exceptional photo and video production skills - from concept through final edit.
  • Deep fluency in social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) and what makes content perform on each.
  • Strong command of composition, visual storytelling, hook, setup, and payoff.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom (After Effects a plus).
  • A natural curiosity about AI content tools and emerging technologies - you're not waiting to be told about them, you're already using them.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • A high-energy, entrepreneurial mindset - you're self-directed, proactive, and driven to make great work.
Preferred
  • Experience with paid social and display ad content creation (understanding of CTR, creative testing, etc.).
  • Experience producing instructional, training, or product demo video content.
  • Background in consumer electronics, mobile accessories, or technology brands.
  • Degree in photography, film, fine arts, communications, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on experience.
How to Apply
Tell us why you're the right person for this role - and show us. A strong portfolio is required. We want to see content that made people stop, look twice, and share. Include a portfolio link with your application. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
Why ZAGG?
  • Be a key creative contributor at a category-leading brand - not a cog in a machine.
  • Tell stories that reach millions of consumers across global platforms.
  • Work alongside a talented, ambitious creative team that values bold ideas.
  • Competitive compensation package, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.
  • A culture that invests in your growth - we want you to get better every year.
