Job description

  • Conduct advanced, multi-disciplinary research requiring knowledge of standard scientific protocols and principles.
  • Troubleshoot and modify procedures and techniques when appropriate. 
  • Develop, design, and conduct complex research projects according to research protocol. 
  • Adapt new methods to existing procedures and modify current experiments through scientific knowledge and intuition. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments. 
  • Derive, analyze, and format data for publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
  • Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data. 
  • Independently reproduce, evaluate, research, and improve techniques currently used. 
  • Discuss relevant insights about experimental results with Faculty and provide useful recommendations and analysis.
  • Present results at laboratory meetings, conferences, and publish papers.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of research activities.
  • Write and submit grant proposals which includes preparing technical and/or scientific proposals for grants, developing and coordinating budgets, administrative elements, and needed materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of coordinating experiments, and completing analysis, statistics, and interpretation.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
  • Ability to participate at scientific conferences and present findings.
  • Ability to develop reports and present in tabular, oral, written, and graphic formats.
  • Proficiency in using computers to automate tasks.
