Job description

As the User Experience (UX) Manager, you'll have the opportunity to lead a team of designers and drive user-centered principles for current and future generations of Honeywell security products. You will work with Offering Management and Engineering teams to define requirements, understand the users' experience, identify risks and constraints, and ultimately help deliver products on time. You will also provide guidance, oversight, and review of work done by team members to ensure the highest standards of usability, interaction design, and accessibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set the standards and drive efforts concerning the usability, accessibility and interactions of our enterprise applications. This includes managing the day-to-day design processes, including wireframes, user journey diagrams, and UI specifications, measuring and assessing the usability of deployed applications, and applying effective design processes. These processes include regular customer engagement, user testing and validation, and adopting user-centered design philosophy across all levels of the product teams.
  • Ownership of the product experience. Along with conventional design activities, the UX Manager is responsible for holistically unifying design, engineering and offering management. Through facilitation and collaboration, the UX Manager will unite entire delivery teams with common values and goals that balance expectations of all stakeholders. Day-to-day work includes product discovery and feature grooming activities where leadership through influence is required.
  • Grow and sustain the UX discipline by actively leading and shaping the UX design team. This role must manage team members' career growth, ensure job satisfaction, challenge and grow skillsets, adopt best practices, and balance timelines and priorities across all resources.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Master's degree desired.
  • Solid understanding of human-computer interaction principles.
  • 5+ years contributing to large-scale enterprise-level applications.
  • 2+ years designing for modern web and native mobile applications.
  • Leading, mentoring, and coaching team members, from entry-level to senior roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and create consensus.
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
