Job description

Tired of designing the same old stuff? Want your work to actually make life easier for people? At Smarty, we help businesses solve messy address problems through smart, reliable location intelligence. We're established, self-funded, independent, and proud of it. We've built a reputation for delivering trusted products with start-up energy, sharp design, and a lot of fun along the way.
Who we are
Every business depends on accurate addresses, but location data can be frustrating, complicated, and full of gaps. That's where we come in. Our products help companies validate, verify, and simplify address information so they can deliver great experiences to their customers. As part of the Product Management team, you'll have the chance to design clean, intuitive user experiences that untangle complex location challenges and make our tools easy to love. You'll collaborate with smart people, work on products that matter, and still have fun doing it.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Orem, UT.
What you'll do:
This is a hands-on, creative, and customer-focused role where no two days feel the same. You'll be:
  • Building wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to explore and share ideas
  • Conducting user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and journey mapping to keep the user at the center
  • Diving into customer research and bringing strategic design insights to product conversations
  • Designing intuitive interfaces for web-based products that solve real-world address and location problems
  • Actively exploring new design tools and methodologies, including AI-assisted workflows, to continuously sharpen craft and output
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with frontend developers and the Marketing team
  • Pitching in with occasional graphic design projects
  • Helping shape and evolve our design system to keep our users' digital experiences consistent and smart

Who you are:
  • Experience with UX design for web products, including research, testing, and user-centered design
  • Proficiency with Figma or similar tools and comfortable building interactive prototypes
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and design practices
  • Ability to work closely and communicate fluently with frontend developers
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (or similar) for graphic design tasks
  • Confident communicator who can champion design ideas and collaborate across teams
  • A degree or relevant certifications in UX, design, or a related field is a plus
  • Portfolio to showcase your design process and finished work
  • Bonus points for frontend development knowledge
  • Experience with mobile is a plus, though most of our work is web-focused

What we'll do for you
Compensation, Benefits and Perks:
  • Compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000; compensation grows with experience and role level
  • 100% paid health, dental and basic life insurance premiums (includes family coverage)
  • Long term disability insurance
  • Generous paid time off that increases with tenure
  • 401(k) retirement plan with matching
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Ongoing training for professional and career development
  • Great workplace and the tools to accomplish your work
  • Fully stocked kitchen with unlimited drinks and snacks
