About this role

The primary duties of a Senior Funding Consultant will include: assisting clients with overall funding strategies to deliver their capital programs; reviewing projects and programs to identify potential funding opportunities; working with clients on interface with the appropriate state/federal agencies and lead the preparation of funding applications including project development, cost estimates, benefit cost analysis, and stakeholder/partner outreach; and helping clients align their internal systems and processes to track, report and receive reimbursement under awarded programs.

Success in this role will include developing consistent delivery approaches, connecting clients and project teams with funding programs and positioning HDR as a differentiator in the marketplace.

Primary Responsibilities

In this role, we'll count on you to:
 
  • Provide information and assistance on the use of various state and federal grant and loan programs (e.g., USDA Rural Development, State Revolving Loan Fund or equivalent, Community Development Block Grant Program, Economic Development Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation, etc.)
  • Meet with client staff, elected officials, and boards on routine basis to discuss/develop projects to align with funding opportunities.
  • Work as part of a community of practice to keep updated on policies and procedures per funding program requirements and changes in policy at the federal level, coordinating disclosure requirements, and maintaining records.
  • Assist with completion of environmental review records per requirements including reviewing projects and locations, land use, and other environmental considerations and assist with data development, hazard mitigation, and stakeholder engagement efforts on selected projects.
  • Interact with many agencies including, USACE, USFWS, SHPO, other local, state and federal agencies, SRF, EDA, USDA Rural Development, CDBG. etc.
  • Coordinate with internal client managers, project managers, and engineers to develop projects/pursuits; work with area client development leads to develop marketing forecasts, client development plans, and internal management of opportunities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field
  • A minimum of 10 years consulting experience and extensive related expertise
  • Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow-up skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
