Job description

Baden Academy Charter School, a K-6 arts-integrated public charter school serving approximately 600 students in one building, is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Food Service Director to oversee and manage our school nutrition program.

The Food Service Director is responsible for the overall operation, compliance, and administration of the school food service program, including USDA/National School Lunch Program requirements, menu planning, procurement, reporting, and program improvement initiatives.

This position will work collaboratively with our Food Service Manager, who oversees daily kitchen operations, meal preparation, and kitchen workflow.

This position may be structured as either:
  • FullTime, Salaried, 10month position following the school calendar (AugustJune), approximately 6:00 AM2:00 PM; or
  • PartTime position, 1525 hours a week, for a seasoned School Nutrition Professional interested in providing program oversight and compliance support.
  • Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with NSLP, preferably with PDE requirements and Administrative Reviews
  • Experience managing school nutrition programs, including compliance, procurement, reporting, and menu planning.
  • A Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Food Service mgmt., nutrition, culinary arts, business or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant school nutrition experience aligning with the USDA Hiring requirements will be considered.
  • Responsibilities:
  • USDA/National School Lunch Program compliance and oversight
  • Menu planning and nutritional compliance
  • Procurement and vendor management
  • CEP renewal and program administration
  • Preparation for Administrative Reviews and audits
  • Production Record oversight
  • Federal and state reporting requirements
  • Bid requirements and procurement compliance
  • Financial tracking and food cost management
  • Wellness policy compliance
  • Staff supervision and evaluation
  • Longrange planning and improvement
  • Other tasks and responsibilities, as may from time to time, be assigned by the CEO or COO.
