Job description

Principal's Secretary

We are looking for people who enjoy being a part of a school community and take pride in supporting the learning environment of our students. The principal's secretary provides administrative and clerical support to the school principal and office staff to ensure the efficient operation of the school office. Our district is looking for creative problem solvers who appreciate working with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Location: Anthony Middle School.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail Oriented – High level of accuracy and attention to detail in creating and posting school communications, social media and school website updates, and assisting with attendance record-keeping.
  • Ability to interact with the public courteously and work harmoniously with colleagues.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations promptly.
  • All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.

Salary:

  • Level-2
  • $13.50-$16.00/hour.
  • Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency, etc.).

Hours Per Day:

  • Secondary hours: 7:45-4:15
    • Times may vary depending on the building assignment
    • Flexible hours depending on availability
    • Average workday = 8 hours.

Reports To: Building Principal.

  • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.

Job Duties:

  • Greet visitors and volunteers while maintaining school safety.
  • Answers the phone and responds to communications in a professional manner.
  • Prepare and post communications for the school on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Responds to facility use requests and schedules accordingly.
  • Maintains and updates discipline records for building administration.
  • Keep updated records of staff key cards and/or classroom keys.
  • Assist with transportation requests and maintenance work orders.
  • Update the schedule of appointments and maintain files for the principal and staff.
  • Attend classes/training/office professional meetings needed to keep informed of district resources and guidelines.
  • Assists families and students with online enrollment.
  • Any additional duties assigned by administration.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
