Job description
Chief Engineer Unlimited Diesel. Flexible: Part or Full time .Shift pay 8-hour shift. Unlimited Chief Only.
Duties:
- Responsible for all operations and maintenance of equipment throughout the entire ship.
- Responsible for engine room and maintenance.
- Determines fuel, lube oil, and other consumables required for a voyage.
- Compiles an inventory for spare parts, oversees fuel, lube, and slop oil transfers, all major maintenance.
- Prepares the engine room for inspection by local marine/safety authorities (e.g. U.S. Coast Guard).
- In charge of the engine room during emergency situations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- USCG License as a Chief Engineer of Motor Vessel of an unlimited HP
- Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
- Ability to maneuver areas within the vessel including engine room spaces and crew areas
- Good verbal and written communication with others continuously
- Process calculations continuously
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Successfully complete drug test.
