Digital Transformation Engineer / Architect (SME)

Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
Program: MQ-9 Reaper
Company: Sumaria Systems

Position Overview

Sumaria Systems is seeking a Digital Transformation Engineer / Architect (Subject Matter Expert) to support the MQ-9 program at Wright-Patterson AFB. This role provides high-level technical leadership in Digital Engineering, software architecture, and Government Reference Architectures supporting next-generation Air Force capabilities.

The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to government leadership and play a key role in shaping modern digital engineering environments and software design strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advisory support to Government Program Managers on Digital Engineering and architecture implementation
  • Support development of software design approaches, including:
    • Platform selection
    • Coding standards
    • Technical design requirements
  • Lead and guide Digital Engineering processes and transformation efforts
  • Interface directly with:
    • Prime contractors
    • Subcontractors
    • External software development teams
  • Ensure alignment with Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Government Reference Architectures
  • Provide technical oversight of software development and system integration efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience in Digital Engineering and software development
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Open Mission Systems (OMS)
    • Government Reference Architectures
    • Modern software design and development practices
  • Experience supporting DoD programs (Air Force preferred)
