Job Summary:
Western Alliance Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Alliance Bancorporation, serving clients nationwide. The IT Staff Engineer I will support and enhance the organization's Governance, Risk, and Controls (GRC) technology platforms, applying strong engineering expertise to manage workstreams, administer GRC platforms, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
• Independently manage assigned workstreams from concept through completion with minimal supervision.
• Administer and support enterprise GRC platforms, including configuration, customization, upgrades, and ongoing optimization to meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GRC platforms with enterprise applications, databases, and data pipelines, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and performance issues to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
• Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Provide user support, training, and documentation to promote effective adoption of GRC platforms.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive improvements in GRC processes and systems.
• Facilitate technical dialogue, reviews, and collaboration across delivery teams while supporting architectural and governance standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of development and/or implementation experience for enterprise applications in Java, Java Script frameworks (VueJS/React), SQL, PostgreSQL
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience in managing and supporting Governance, Risk, and Controls platforms
• Familiarity with IT security, data privacy, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills
• May require up to 25% travel
Preferred:
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, and CI/CD or DevOps toolchains
• Knowledge of GRC frameworks such as COSO, ISO 31000, NIST, or similar
• Hands-on experience configuring and customizing GRC platforms (e.g., SAI360, RSA Archer, SAP GRC)
