Embrace the excitement of constant challenges and victories in this dynamic role!**Key Responsibilities*** Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.* Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.* Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.* Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.* Interview clients and witnesses, as well as drafting summaries of their statements and maintaining communication records.* Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.* Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.* Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to more complex legal work* Provide legal opinions to claims clients.* Conducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents .**Education*** Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar**Minimum Requirements*** Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.* Demonstrates strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.* Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.* Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.* Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct.* Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.* Must be proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, TeamConnect, internet research tools, and other legal case management software.**Explore the Benefits of Joining Allstate's Client Legal Services****Exceptional Work-Life Balance:** At Allstate, we understand the importance of achieving harmony between work and personal life.
