Position Overview

WisEngineering is currently interviewing candidates to support a key government program at Picatinny Arsenal! We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Financial/Accounting Analyst to join our team. This is a fully on-site role providing critical support for daily financial operations, tracking, and data analysis. The ideal candidate possesses strong foundational accounting skills, high analytical aptitude, and expert-level Excel capabilities. We are looking for an approachable, collaborative team player who is a fast learner, highly trainable, and eager to adapt to new systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Tracking & Reconciliation: Manage unliquidated obligations (ULOs), track open commitments, and monitor daily financial transactions.

  • Transactional Operations: Process invoices, billings, cash collections, and resolve system data errors.

  • Analysis & Forecasting: Perform variance analysis, financial forecasting, and prepare custom reports for management.

  • Excel Data Management: Develop and maintain advanced Microsoft Excel tools, including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas to streamline reporting.

  • Problem Solving: Investigate financial discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve complex billing or funding issues.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and government staff to ensure accurate reporting and smooth operational workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field is strongly preferred.

  • Experience: 2-3 years of professional, post-degree accounting or bookkeeping experience.

  • Technical Skills: Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills (proficient with macros, formulas, data manipulation, and forecasting techniques).

  • Core Attributes:

    • High learning agility; a fast learner who is easily trainable on complex internal tools.

    • Easy-going, cooperative temperament with a strong focus on team collaboration and harmony.

    • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and highly organized
      Must have: ERP/Accounting Software: QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or similar data management tools

Preferred Skills (A Plus!)

While not required, hands-on experience or familiarity with any of the following enterprise or defense financial systems is a significant plus:

Military/DoD Financial Systems: Defense Travel System (DTS), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), PowerTrack (TAC), DATAAPS/ATAAPS, or Wide Area Workflow (WAWF).
