Evening Shift Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)/Experienced Surgery Nurse

Advanced Veterinary Medical Center is urgently hiring an experienced Evening Shift Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)/Experienced Surgery Nurse to join our growing team in El Sobrante, California.

This is a evening shift position till 11pm, and weekend availability is required.

  • Otto texting platform for client communication.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated RVT who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about patient care, client communication, and team collaboration. This role is ideal for an experienced technician looking to fully utilize their technical skills while also helping guide and support a growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Triage patients, obtain medical histories, and record vital signs.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures including radiographs, ultrasound, echocardiograms, and laboratory testing.
  • Perform phlebotomy including cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood draws.
  • Place IV catheters and assist with fluid therapy.
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and diagnostic dental radiographs.
  • Operate autoclaves and maintain proper surgical sterilization protocols.
  • Process in-house laboratory samples and coordinate outside laboratory submissions.
  • Calculate medication dosages and provide discharge instructions to clients.
  • Discuss treatment plans, estimates, and payment options with clients.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and enter service charges.
  • Assist in training and supervising team members.
  • Help develop and implement hospital protocols as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of veterinary experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain focused in a high-volume environment.
  • Confident handling and restraining pets of all sizes.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Passion for both patient care and client relationships.
  • Ability to adapt and contribute positively to a collaborative workplace culture.

Schedule:

  • Evening shift.
  • Full-time or part-time opportunities available.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour, depending on experience.
