Job Title: Preschool Lead Teacher

Program: Torah Tots Preschool – Chabad of Kendall

About the Organization:

Torah Tots Preschool is a new early childhood education program under Chabad of Kendall & Pinecrest, dedicated to providing a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment rooted in Jewish values. Our unique educational approach combines Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, fostering creativity, independence, and hands-on learning while incorporating Jewish traditions.

Position Overview:

The Preschool Lead Teacher will play a key role in launching and growing our new preschool program, serving as the primary classroom teacher and helping to shape the educational environment and culture from the ground up. This role is ideal for a passionate early childhood educator who values hands-on learning, creativity, and child-centered education.

The Lead Teacher will create and implement a blended Montessori and Reggio-inspired curriculum while fostering a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. As the program grows, there may be opportunities for expanded leadership responsibilities.

While a Director Credential is not required, it is considered a strong plus for candidates interested in future growth within the program.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development & Classroom Leadership

  • Develop and implement a blended Montessori and Reggio-inspired curriculum incorporating Jewish values, holidays, and traditions.
  • Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote exploration, creativity, and independence.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and child-centered classroom environment.
  • Support each child's individual development, encouraging problem-solving, self-expression, and social growth.

Teaching & Student Engagement

  • Serve as the lead teacher in the classroom, guiding daily routines and activities.
  • Adapt lessons and activities to meet the developmental needs of all learners.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students and create a joyful learning atmosphere.

Program Support & Growth

  • Assist in building the preschool program, contributing ideas and structure as the school grows.
  • Support the development of classroom systems, routines, and materials aligned with Montessori and Reggio philosophies.
  • Collaborate with leadership on program development and future expansion.

Family Engagement & Communication

  • Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, updates, and conferences.
  • Share student progress and classroom experiences with parents.
  • Help foster a sense of community among families within the preschool.

Compliance & Classroom Operations

  • Ensure classroom practices align with Florida childcare licensing requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of student progress and classroom activities.
  • Support health, safety, and cleanliness standards within the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in early childhood education.
  • Experience with Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia approaches is highly desirable.
  • Director Credential is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in a Jewish educational setting is a plus.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for early childhood education and creating an inclusive, nurturing environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Montessori and Reggio Emilia teaching methods and materials.
  • Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning environments.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with families and colleagues.
  • Comfort with basic technology for communication and classroom support.

Schedule & Availability:

  • Full-time position with hours aligned to preschool programming.
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability for parent events or school programs.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on skills and experience.
  • Paid time off, including Jewish and national holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and Montessori/Reggio training support.

We Encourage You to Apply:
