Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Technician to support daily operations in a growing manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for machine setup, process optimization, troubleshooting,, mold changes and maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality molded parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, start up, and shut down injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
- Install and remove molds, including proper clamping, water, air, and electrical connections
- Adjust process parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, cycle time) to optimize part quality and cycle efficiency
- Troubleshoot molding defects such as short shots, flash, sinks, warpage, and burns
- Perform routine machine and mold maintenance; identify and report larger repair needs
- Monitor production runs and perform quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain accurate documentation of setups, process changes, and production data
- Follow all safety procedures and housekeeping standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as an Injection Molding Technician (or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of thermoplastics, molds, and injection molding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and work instructions
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with auxiliary equipment (dryers, chillers, loaders, conveyors, robots a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Scientific molding or process optimization experience
- Experience with multi-cavity or tight-tolerance molds
- Knowledge of materials such as TPE, ABS, Nylon, HDPE, or Hytrel
- Experience in high-mix / low-to-mid volume production environments
