Job description


Kiawah Partners is currently hiring Landscape Laborers! Landscape Laborers are responsible for the overall care and maintenance of lawns, shrubs, flowerbeds, walks and gardens. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Mowing and edging lawns and around flower beds, walks and walls
  • Mulching, aerating, weeding, and grubbing
  • Planting seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs using gardening tools
  • Decorating gardens with stones and plants
  • Following planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage
  • Pruning and trimming trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws
  • Raking, mulching and composting leaves
  • Trimming and picking flowers, and cleaning flower beds
  • Watering lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans
  • Maintaining and repair tools, equipment, and structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, and benches, using hand and power tools
  • Providing proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features

Qualifications

  • The ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs, and to sit, stand, kneel and walk for long periods, is required
  • Qualified applicants will be comfortable working outdoors for long periods in varied weather conditions
  • Applicants must be comfortable with the regular use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes
  • Some previous experience as a landscaper or horticulturalist is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Experience operating powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, leaf blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws is preferred
