Job description

Well stablished government contractor seeking a Construction Superintendent with at least 10 years of field experience, including direct work with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for daily on-site supervision of construction activities, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and specifications.

This role will focus primarily on projects located in Westchester, Putnam, and Rockland counties, but not limited to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all field activities on assigned construction sites.
  • Ensure adherence to DEP requirements and environmental compliance protocols.
  • Maintain project schedule and ensure milestones are met on time.
  • Manage subcontractors, labor crews, and suppliers on site.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and jobsite cleanliness.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and ensure quality control throughout construction.
  • Report progress, delays, and site conditions to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and materials staging.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate site logs, reports, and daily documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on field experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role.
  • Experience working with DEP-regulated projects and environmental compliance.
  • Strong background in civil/site work, utilities, infrastructure, or heavy construction preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and DEP guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, and safety (OSHA 30 preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between sites.
