Position Overview

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and infrastructure components that support Monetary Metals’ technology platform. This full-time, fully remote position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of engineers to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure software solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with problem-solving abilities and a passion for building high-quality applications that align with the company’s mission.

Key Objectives

  • Develop and maintain high-quality web applications that meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new product features.
  • Implement best practices for clean, efficient, and secure coding standards.
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability across all systems and applications. Continuously improve development processes and stay current with emerging technologies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Application Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL or React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
  • Ensure software solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

AWS Infrastructure & Cloud Development

  • Work with AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, IAM roles, endpoints, and VPCs in a multi-account environment.
  • Support deployment processes and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.
  • Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the company’s cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Code Quality & Documentation

  • Maintain and improve existing codebases, performing refactoring as needed for quality and maintainability.
