This role requires a valid CDL, teamwork, and strict adherence to safety and DOT regulations. Sleeper team drivers typically handle high-priority shipments and may travel across multiple states. Compensation is competitive, often including mileage-based pay and benefits.

What is the typical work schedule like for a UPS Sleeper Team Driver?

UPS Sleeper Team Drivers generally work long-haul routes in pairs, alternating driving shifts to maximize efficiency and comply with Department of Transportation hours-of-service regulations. This often involves overnight travel and spending several nights per week on the road, sleeping in the truck's designated sleeper berth during your partner’s driving shift. While the schedule can be demanding, it allows for more miles driven per week and typically offers more consistent, predictable routes than solo driving positions. Team drivers benefit from increased earning potential and enjoy the camaraderie and support that comes from working with a partner.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a UPS Sleeper Team Driver?

To thrive as a UPS Sleeper Team Driver, you need a valid CDL Class A license, an excellent driving record, and experience with long-haul commercial driving.
