Job description

DRIVER

Caribbean Food Delights (CFD), a privately owned & operated company, is the leading manufacturer of Jamaican Style Patties: beef, chicken and vegetable. This state-of-the-art facility is SQF certified. We are looking for/seeking a reliable, dependable Driver with a clean driving record to join the team in our Shipping/Receiving/Logistics department. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Transport goods between company facilities and locations, using company vehicle
  • Move trailers within the Tappan facility, for efficient loading and unloading of pallets
  • Load and unload trailers using the forklift or electric pallet jacks, as required
  • Transport raw materials (boxed items) from one location to another, ensuring safe and timely delivery
  • Complete over the road deliveries, including pick-ups of additional materials from designated locations
  • Inspect vehicle and equipment before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance; report any issues to the manager; maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and communicate, effectively, with dispatch and warehouse teams
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety protocols
  • Perform any other related duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum (3) years driving experience

Valid CDL Class A license; clean driving record

Experience operating forklift and/or pallet jack

Ability to handle physical tasks ? loading/unloading when necessary

Strong understanding of transportation safety standards and DOT regulations

Excellent time management

Good communication (verbal/written, in English) and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation apps.
