The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Dock Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality and efficiency of loading and unloading trailers, ensuring that all products are handled safely and accurately. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and preparing loads to meet customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receiving & Inventory Management: Receive all inbound material orders, including labels and deliveries from UPS and FedEx.
  • Loading/Unloading: Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack, or manually, following state and federal DOT guidelines.
  • Freight Transport: Safely transport freight and equipment throughout the service center.
  • Pallet Handling: Manually pull and stack pallets as needed; rebuild damaged pallets prior to shipping.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate heavy equipment such as manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and various forklifts.
  • Trailer Preload Coordination: Inspect trailers to ensure loads are complete and accurate.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate loading documentation for shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean, orderly, and safe at all times.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and maintain proper load security.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: Previous forklift experience preferred
Compensation
  • Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 an hour, based on experience and location.
  • Classification: Non-Exempt, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to consistently lift, push, pull, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift, including frequent movement between loading areas and trailers.
  • Requires frequent bending at the waist, stretching, and reaching overhead to load and secure freight.
  • Must be able to work in changing weather conditions if the loading/unloading area is exposed to outdoor elements.
  • Capability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
