Job description

Western Maryland Physician Servicesis hiring aCasualPhysician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support theirComprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU).

Hours: 8-hour shifts every Friday, on-call Saturday and Sunday

Location: UPMC Western Maryland

Position Specifics: 100% of time will be spent within inpatient rehab nursing

Department Details: The Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) is CARF-accredited in Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty Program for Adults. As part of the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, this 13-bed unit provides medical rehabilitation in a hospital setting for adults who need coordinated therapy, nursing care, and physician oversight after illness, injury, or stroke.

Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP):

  • The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required
  • BSN, MSN is preferred
  • Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred
  • Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required
  • National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing
  • Current CPR certification is required
  • Act 33 Clearance will be required
  • Act 73 Clearance will be required
  • Act 34 Clearance required

Physician Assistant (PA):

  • A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required
  • BS or MS candidate is preferred
  • Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred
  • Current state PA licensecertified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) isrequired
  • Current CPR certification isrequired
  • Act 33 Clearance will berequired
  • Act 73 Clearance will berequired
  • Act 34 Clearancerequired

Masters degree in Nurse Practitioner Program (Maryland Approved) required
