In this role, you will travel to various UPMC physician offices andoutpatient officeswithin Allegheny County, and occasionally some locations just outside of Allegheny County, and work a variety of shifts during daylight hours. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 8.5 hours, and could start as early as 7:00AM orend as late as 5:30PM (with amajority of shifts being8:00AM-4:30PM). Your first six months will be floating on the mobile team with the potential to be placed at one location after six months.

Responsibilities:
- Interview and pre-register patients.
- Input patient information into the computer to initiate a medical record and a bill.
- Obtain and update demographic, next-of-kin, and insurance information, including referrals/authorizations on all patients.
- Confirm and verify insurance benefits.
- Obtain signature of patient or family member for consent to treatment and financial responsibility following the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules and regulations.
- Collect and record patient payments.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Appropriately distribute/triage phone calls to other areas and/or clinical providers.
- Assist with administrative duties in the office including, but not limited to, scanning of medical records and faxing
Qualifications:- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with personal computer-based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances (to be acquired after offer acceptance and before start date - we will provide instructions on how to obtain):
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
- Act 31 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
