Job description

The Senior Engineer, Application Development & Maintenance is responsible for supporting large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives post go-live and driving critical enhancements for SAP BRIM Convergent Charging (CC) within the Cardinal Opti Freight business.

This role serves as a technical lead, accountable for designing, building, and supporting real-time rating and charging solutions within the SAP BRIM ecosystem, while ensuring high performance, scalability, and alignment with business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deep expertise in SAP BRIM Convergent Charging (CC), including both technical and functional components
  • Configure and maintain core CC objects:
    • BITs & CITs (Billable and Chargeable Items)
    • Chargeable Item Classes
    • Allowance and balance management logic
    • Price Plans & Charge Plans
    • Cross-Catalog Mapping Tables, Translation Tables, Subscriber Tables, Range Tables
    • Provider Contracts
  • Design and support rating and re-rating processes for complex pricing scenarios
  • Configure, test, and debug new and existing charge plans in a production support environment
  • Troubleshoot:
    • BIT/CI creation issues
    • Queue backlogs
    • Pricing discrepancies and rating anomalies
  • Support FI-CA posting simulations and bill run rehearsals
  • Reconcile end-to-end usage-to-bill flows across:
    • Convergent Mediation (CM)
    • Convergent Charging (CC)
    • Convergent Invoicing (CI) and FI-CA
  • Design and manage integrations with:
    • SAP SOM (Subscription Order Management)
    • SAP CI (Convergent Invoicing)
    • SAP FI-CA
    • External mediation systems
  • Develop and maintain interfaces (REST APIs, SOAP web services)
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend SAP standard best practices
  • Lead and facilitate design workshops and solution discussions
  • Support performance tuning of rating engines and charging processes
  • Leverage AI tools to improve productivity, automation, and operational efficiency
  • Provide leadership in planning/sequencing of end-to-end design workshops and support facilitation of workshops, leveraging knowledge of industry best practices and application of global SAP implementation experience.
  • Ability to convert technical/functional specifications into test scenarios and test scripts
  • Identifying synergies and optimization areas within the BRIM and manage the execution.
  • Keeping up with emerging technologies and changes in business processes.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with all key stakeholders and provide timely and effective communications, including appropriate status updates.
  • Customer focused and deep understanding of business needs.
  • Driving end-user satisfaction by using specific metrics.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the teams during problem solving and crisis management.
  • Provide solution leadership, organizing, and overseeing projects.
  • Solution ownership of new build project and enhancement for BRIM
  • Help in completing effort estimates, preparing proposals, and collaborating with functional partners to deliver solutions for value-add business functions.
  • Collaborating with other process tower leaders to ensure a cohesive solution without impacting cross functional and downstream processes or applications.
  • Ensure all critical BRIM processes are properly monitored and alerted; and automate recurrent incidents.
  • Closely follows the strategic direction set by the segment and executes on priority goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 8+ years of SAP experience, with 2-3+ years in SAP BRIM Convergent Charging preferred
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Convergent Charging Core Tool & CDC
    • Charge plan lifecycle management
  • Expertise in core CC tools and utilities:
    • Admin+
    • BART
    • IEC
    • Bulk Loader
    • Rater, Guider, Updater, Dispatcher commands
  • Strong experience in:
    • Performance tuning of rating clusters
    • High-volume transaction processing
  • Solid understanding of:
    • FI-CA integration and BIT processing
    • Billing and invoicing impact
  • Integration expertise across:
    • SAP CC SOM, CI/FI-CA, SD
    • External mediation systems
  • Experience working with Subscription, usage-based, telecom, or utilities billing models
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering & Functional and technical specification documentation
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organizational and planning skills
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with ASAP (Accelerated SAP) Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong experience in completing effort estimates, preparing proposals, and collaborating with our functional partners to deliver quality business solutions.
  • Ability to develop individuals and teams.

Anticipated salary range: $123,400 - $176,300
