Job description

Why this role exists
OGS operates high-stakes live communications environments that must run predictably. The Broadcast Systems Technician prepares, operates, and monitors remote broadcast workstations and media systems-executing SOPs, triaging issues quickly, and escalating clearly.
This role also provides Tier 1 SLA support: tickets move, documentation stays clean, and users are supported professionally under pressure. Upskilling in LED display technologies, media servers, and real-time rendering workflows is expected.
Outcomes
  • Live sessions run predictably via consistent pre-flight, monitoring, and SOP execution
  • Issues are identified early, triaged fast, resolved when possible, and escalated correctly
  • SLA support is reliable: tickets move, users are informed, incidents are documented cleanly
  • Systems remain stable through routine checks, maintenance, and disciplined execution
  • Documentation stays usable: runbooks, logs, and reports improve operations over time
  • Interest and competence in Pro AV system integration: developed alongside core broadcast support

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and operate remote broadcast/livestream workstations; run pre-flight checks (video/audio/control)
  • Monitor live sessions; troubleshoot (incl. VPN/remote access/control interfaces); escalate with clear context
  • Support ingest, recording, playback, routing, and delivery; verify format, frame rate, sync, signal integrity
  • Provide Tier 1 SLA support: triage, capture required details, follow runbooks, coordinate with engineering/ops, document in tickets/logs
  • Execute routine checks across servers/VMs/storage/network connectivity; perform basic maintenance per SOP
  • Produce post-session documentation (show reports, incident notes, change logs); maintain SOPs/checklists
  • Support equipment prep, tracking, labeling, and returns; keep kits/work areas organized
  • Participate in VP/XR LED-wall training; build baseline support fluency for Disguise, Pixera, and related tools

Requirements
Must Have
  • Hands-on with computers, peripherals, and AV gear
  • Video/audio fundamentals (HDMI/SDI, frame rates, audio channels, routing basics)
  • Follows procedures precisely under time pressure
  • Calm, focused execution in live environments
  • High attention to detail and consistency
  • Clear written comms for notes, logs, Slack, and reports
  • Customer-service mindset for SLA support

Preferred
  • Broadcast/livestream/production experience
  • Familiarity with OBS, vMix, ATEM, HyperDeck (or similar)
  • Basic networking (IP/subnets/VLANs/VPNs)
  • Comfort across Windows/macOS/Linux and virtualized environments
  • Interest in monitoring/automation and LED display technologies, media servers, and real-time rendering workflows such as Disguise, Pixera, Unreal Engine, etc.

The OGS Way
  • We are Entrepreneurial. Courageous. Innovative. Collaborative. We Believe in Each Other.
  • Reality first. Systems over heroics. Decision-grade communication. High standards, low drama. Finish the job.
