Job Description Summary
Supervise and evaluate surgical technology students who are in clinical settings throughout western North Carolina.
Duties
Develop teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each course. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the program. Maintain professional certification and seek opportunities for professional development. Perform duties as assigned by Department Chairperson.
Minimum Requirements
1.CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) through the NBSTSA (National Board on Certification in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
2. Associate degree
3. Two years minimum work experience either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology within the past five years
4. Current CPR certification
5. Member of AST (Association of Surgical Technology)
Preferred Qualifications
1. Teaching experience (formal or have been a clinical preceptor)
2. Bachelor's degree or higher
