Position Overview
The Rail Unloading Laborer will be responsible for all aspects of the rail loading and unloading. Some preventable plant maintenance. Work will be performed per the supervisor's instruction, free from direct supervision, except for more complicated jobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as, maintain the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.
  • Properly follow all company policies and procedures for a safe working environment, report any problems to the supervisor, area manager, safety director or Human Resources.
  • Assist in loading of aggregate trains at the Millard plant.
  • Assist in preventative and regular maintenance of rail loading equipment in all rail areas.
  • Assist in unloading of sand trains at the Millard sand plant.
  • Complete risk assessments, pre-trips, workplace inspections and any other reports as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi task.
  • Must be detail oriented and thorough in all job responsibilities.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.

Requirements
  • Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours.

Education/Experience
  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-2 years operating heavy equipment or related experience preferred.
