Job description

"Position Overview
Working under immediate supervision, a Material Handler I performs physical functions as they relate to the moving, receiving, storing and dispensing of merchandise. They are also responsible for loading or unloading merchandise. The use of a hand-jack may be required.
Essential Job Functions
Load and unload merchandise from trucks.
Move product around using the proper tools.
Prep, build and wrap pallets appropriately.
Perform basic quality control checks to ensure merchandise is secure.
Use RF device to direct where merchandise needs to be stored.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: High School or equivalent.
Experience: 0 - 2 years experience in a distribution center.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Certification on: Hand-Jack. Experience with WMS a plus.
Working Conditions: Distribution Center. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, pull and push for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Other Skills/Abilities: Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the particular area. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to listen and communicate effectively and have the ability to follow specific instructions. Must be able to be trained on and understand how to operate material handling equipment.
