JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the supervision of daily operation of all technical and facilities aspects of Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU) ensuring show quality, safety, and a positive guest experience. Oversight of Technicians specializing in Entertainment Maintenance including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system components, Facilities Maintenance, Scenic Decor & Props, and etc. Serves as key liaison for third party Technicians when Electrical, HVAC, and other specialized repairs need to be made. Adheres to OSHA and Universal safety standards, ensuring safety of both guests and Team Members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the supervision of daily Technical and Facilities Maintenance operations. Overseeing Team Members assigned to routine maintenance, emergency repairs, etc. This includes but is not limited to the training of all new employees assigned to Universal Horror Unleashed, assessing employee performance and handling all employee relations' issues in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Supports facilities maintenance efforts including routine, preventative/predictive maintenance, emergency repairs, etc. while ensuring adherence to OSHA and Universal safety standards. Serves as key liaison for third-party vendors such as Electrical, HVAC, restaurant equipment maintenance, and other specialized facilities maintenance, overseeing third-party work completion and processing work orders. Complete regular inspection of property to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.  
  • Responsible for the technical planning, execution and quality assurance of all technical and facilities maintenance operations, machinery and equipment, ensuring safe operation. Supervises daily oversight of all scenic, signage, set decorating, and props maintenance and partners with Entertainment for special events.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information which pertains to the technical operation of Universal Horror Unleashed to necessary parties in partnering divisions Supports TSAT and GSAT initiatives and actions plans and safety standard initiatives and ensures state requirements are met.
  • Responsible for daily staffing levels of technicians for both operational and nonoperational hours, partnering and scheduling third party technicians for necessary repairs/preventative maintenance. 
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises a Non-Exempt team

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Will require a flexible schedule including late night/weekend/holiday hours based on business needs.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Required relevant state certifications including OSHA 30-Hour.
  • Must be able to obtain Non-Gaming work card upon employment.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required. 

  • Expert knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 working standards.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA, ANSI, and ESTA standards are preferred.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years within a supervisory/lead position preferred. 3-5 years' experience within the professional entertainment or theme park industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
