Production Support Engineer

Our client is in need of multiple Production Support Engineers (IIB, DataPower, APIC) for a long term contract.

MUST have IBM DataPower; APIC

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and direct day-to-day activities of 365x24x7 Operations team, including specialists from L2 and L3 Application Support
  • Lead team efforts to provide analysis and support for application issues.
  • Responsible for meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) for all incidents
  • Lead and guide Application Support team with various technology background – IBM IIB, Data Power, APIC and WebSphere related issues.
  • Responsible for meeting uptime requirements for all applications
  • Mentor and train to perform troubleshooting and solve application related problems.
  • Oversee the identification of application root-cause problems and resolutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in application support role or application development.
  • Support experience of a minimum of two of the following technologies – DataPower, APIC, IIB
  • Experience in designing, developing services and supporting using DataPower and APIC service components
  • Must have lead experience of handling project independently and leading project task end to end.
  • XML and related technologies like XSL, XPath, XQuery, XSLT
  • Working knowledge of IIB/IBM WebSphere Message Broker, IBM WebSphere MQ, working with Eclipse.
  • Must have experience of DataPower services like multi-protocol gateways, web service proxies, firewalls
  • Must have knowledge on SSL Handshake, DataPower proxy profile.
  • Must have knowledge on DataPower deployment policy, UCD, SVN and GITHub
  • Ability to understand infrastructure design documents and be able to use them to develop necessary policies, scripts and code on DataPower
  • Experience in Design multiple services based on different standards for REST, web services, data integration techniques, messaging, and transformation engines and non-standard services (APIs).
  • Develop and Troubleshoot message translation related issues while communicating with backend (JSON to SOAP / SOAP to JSON).
  • A good understanding and experience of REST APIs and/or
  • Proficiency with API protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST
  • Must have Troubleshooting experience in IBM DataPower and IIB from end to end.
  • Experience working with SOAP/REST based Web Services and testing tool like SOAPUI.
  • UNIX/LINUX experience
  • Creating and Publishing API’s in APIconnect.
  • Knowledge on Java, Monitoring tool like Splunk and AppDynamics is an added advantage.
  • Good communication skills, organized, multi-tasking, assertiveness are skills that will help being successful on this role.
