Job description

This position is for a senior manager within Citi's Corporate Insurance and Risk Management function, a specialized unit that protects Citi's global assets and continuity of business from fortuitous loss through risk analysis, financing, placement and administration of corporate insurance programs, and captive insurance company management.
Responsibilities:
  • Support overall strategic development and execution of risk financing activities including placement and administration of corporate insurance programs (Property, Casualty, Int'l Casualty, D&O, Fidelity Bond, Marine, Cyber, etc.) and management of captive insurance company
  • Execute insurance claims management, oversight of third-party administrators, loss engineering and risk control
  • Insurance support to business units and senior/business risk managers for various business-specific insurance needs including political risks and specific credit insurance placements
  • Risk management advisory services to business units, approval/monitoring of local insurers, insurance brokers and insurance purchasing,
  • Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, taking into consideration the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets
  • Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Key position requirements:
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry, with a proven track record of development of effective long-term relationships with major insurers, insurance brokers and other insurance specialists
  • Knowledge of and experience with the design/negotiation of large corporate insurance programs
  • Experience with captive insurance companies
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities
  • Commitment to Citi's leadership principles and culture that drives client excellence, controls excellence and operational excellence

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15+ years relevant experience; managerial experience

Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree; Graduate degree a plus
