Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr Manager, Lead Architect role is a leadership role responsible for technical and people leadership. This individual will lead a global team of solution and application architects which enable UDX business and guest experience global solutions across multiple value streams. They will oversee a portfolio of technology design artifacts.

This role is responsible for architecture artifact delivery globally, ensuring strategic themes and enterprise architecture design patterns are followed working closely with individual architects and senior leaders. This role is involved in the design of specific solutions providing subject matter expertise and guidance. The role will partner closely within D&T teams and other business leaders. This leader must be able to inspire UDX culture. Will be responsible for providing metrics and KPI’s on architectural design work.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategy, Architecture, Planning and Delivery – Oversee specific areas of solution architecture, application architecture, and application design. Enforce consistent technology and architecture design patterns across solutions and ensure designs follow best practices around design including simplicity, scalability, and flexibility. Act as a subject matter expert and provide architectural expertise and provide high level technical assessments based on this knowledge.
  • Architecture Delivery – Work with individual architects to author technical design artifacts for value stream wide solutions with various integrations. Ensure solution and enterprise roadmaps are integrated into individual solution designs. Ensure documentation created is usable by senior executives and individual developers. Responsible for creating and managing a set of KPIs for architecture delivery.
  • Technical and Cross team Collaboration – Work with other D&T leaders to ensure architects solutions are not only best in class but also fit the needs of others. Ensure alignment between solution architects and other architecture groups such as security architecture. Collaborate with leaders on other teams such as engineering, infrastructure and on-site support teams.
  • Team Culture and Staff Development – Lead and mentor direct reports & team members in day-to-day management and administration. Provide decision making and priority management for direct reports. Ensure team member satisfaction and a Universal culture with effective communication.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, information technology or similar preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 9+ years in technology delivery and implementation
  • 9+ years’ experience in global/large scale/enterprise solution architecture and platform development.
  • Proven experience
  • Extensive experience in front-end and back-end integration design.
  • Experience in executive communication and collaboration.
  • Experience in stakeholder and partner communication.
  • Proven experience with architecture design patterns using NoSQL and SQL databases.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) or other architectural framework certification preferred
  • Cloud platform certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Broad technical knowledge across the industry with experience in implementing complex solutions with success
  • Demonstrated technical strategic ability
  • Extensive knowledge in creating, managing and integrating with REST and SOAP based APIs.
