How we LEAD:
Universal Production Music (UPM) is seeking an experienced Contract Admin Manager, based in Santa Monica, CA, to support the UPM Licensing and Partnerships team in reviewing, drafting, and administration of licensing and other contract related inquiries.
What you'll CREATE:
  • Review contract redlines
  • Draft standard form agreements and other legal documents (e.g., memorandums, addendums, assignment letters)
  • Adhere to contract turnaround guidelines and client requirements, which align with UPM's internal revenue deadlines
  • Act as authorized signatory for boilerplate license forms approved by EVP of Global Operations
  • Process fully executed licenses in company's CRM database and send over to billing.
  • Work with Account Executives, Clients, Business Affairs, and internal staff on modifications and approvals for agreements
  • Work with the EVP of Global Operations on attaining legalese change approvals and any necessary agreement language modifications with UMPG Business Affairs
  • Directly manage one employee - ensuring contract drafting flows are running efficiently.
  • Join Client calls as may be needed to ensure efficient contract resolution
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for license and contract archives
  • Assist with any report requests summarizing license output
  • Research claims asserted against company
  • Attend and actively participate in internal team meetings as requested

Bring your VIBE:
Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of music industry/licensing or production industry a plus
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Proficiency in CRM Programs (e.g., Salesforce or MS Dynamics)
  • Comfortable utilizing e-signature programs (e.g., Adobe or Docusign)
  • Strong customer-focused aptitude, with a polite and courteous manner
  • Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative and creative environment

Experience:
  • 3+ years working in capacity involving the drafting and processing of legal contracts
  • Experience working in the Entertainment industry and/or in Publishing is a plus

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Paralegal certification through and accredited association preferred
