Job description

Job Summary:
Bandwidth is a global software company that helps enterprises deliver exceptional experiences through voice, messaging, and emergency services. They are seeking a Senior IP Network Engineer to design, operate, and evolve a highly resilient global network, working with various network technologies and driving automation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Design and operate VxLAN/EVPN-based datacenter fabrics across multiple PoPs while also being comfortable in traditional spanning tree topologies.
• Design and operate Palo Alto firewall infrastructure, including policy design, zone segmentation, and threat prevention
• Architect and maintain BGP-based WAN routing across our backbone
• Drive network automation initiatives — from device provisioning to event-driven remediation
• Collaborate across Engineering and Operations to evaluate new technologies and deliver network improvements
• Participate in an on-call rotation and perform after-hours maintenance as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with service provider network infrastructure
• Deep expertise in datacenter networking: VxLAN, EVPN, BGP EVPN control plane, and leaf-spine architectures
• Strong Palo Alto experience: firewall policy management, Panorama, zone-based segmentation
• Solid routing foundation: BGP (iBGP/eBGP), OSPF, and MPLS in production environments
• Experience with Cisco (ASR, Nexus/NX-OS) and Juniper (MX, SRX) platforms
• Scripting or development experience — Python, Ansible, or similar
• Comfortable working in Linux environments
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading project work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
• Experience with ACI or other SDN/overlay controller platforms
• Network certifications (CCIE, JNCIE, PCNSE, or equivalent)
• Experience with using AI to contribute to your mission
