The Opportunity
We're looking for an Application Specialist - Lab Team to bring hands-on technical expertise to our North American sales organization. In this role, you'll work directly with laboratory instrumentation in our Westborough, MA lab, support customers on-site and remotely, and partner closely with our sales team to turn technical challenges into successful outcomes.
You'll be at the intersection of science and customer success - running sample analysis, demonstrating what our instruments can do, supporting method development, and delivering the kind of technical insight that builds customer confidence and drives sales.
What You'll Do
  • Provide application and technical support to the North American sales team
  • Assist with technical objection handling and competitive product positioning
  • Conduct laboratory sample analysis and generate detailed application reports with findings and recommendations
  • Support customers with method verification, validation, and transfer processes
  • Maintain and manage demo lab equipment at our Westborough, MA headquarters
  • Deliver remote and on-site application support across our AMS, Chopin, and Unity Scientific product lines
  • Travel to customer sites for demonstrations, training, and project support
  • Collaborate with service teams to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues
  • Capture and maintain application activities and customer interactions in Salesforce CRM
  • Gather customer feedback and application insights to inform product development
  • Develop and maintain instrument calibrations as needed
  • Help train new employees and internal stakeholders
  • Take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves

What You Bring
Experience
  • Prior experience in an applications support role within scientific instrumentation or the food industry
  • Hands-on experience with analytical/laboratory instrumentation preferred
  • A track record of supporting customer-facing technical engagements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Food Science, or a related field required
  • Advanced degree preferred

Communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • The ability to translate technical information clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
