This position is focused on providing comprehensive mental health support to elderly residents within a telehealth framework. This is a full-time remote position, allowing you to fulfill your duties from the comfort of your home while maintaining the flexibility to manage your work-life balance. Our telehealth platform enables counselors to connect effectively with clients, ensuring that they have access to the support they need regardless of their location. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify individual care needs and create personalized treatment plans.
• Provide both individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing emotional challenges related to aging, loss, and life transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that enhance the quality of life for geriatric residents.
• Educate families and staff on strategies to promote emotional health and resilience in elderly clients.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions to support residents and their families in navigating end-of-life issues with compassion.
• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions designed to improve mental acuity among the elderly.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and treatment outcomes using electronic health record systems.

The primary focus of this role is to serve elderly clients dealing with a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and grief. As our aging population faces unique emotional and psychological obstacles, this counselor will play a crucial role in enhancing their overall well-being. Understanding the varying backgrounds and health needs of each individual will be vital in providing culturally competent care.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• Minimum of four years of recent, relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Demonstrated expertise in delivering mental health services tailored to seniors.
• Strong understanding of ethical and legal standards within the context of geriatric mental health.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with elderly clients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

• Additional training or specialization in areas pertinent to geriatric mental health, such as dementia care or trauma-informed care.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement collective care strategies.
• Familiarity with telehealth protocols and technology to provide effective remote counseling.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $95,000 annually, accompanied by a sign-on bonus.
