What you'll do
  • ​Collaborates with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements

  • Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in production environments

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • Airline Industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in production environments
  • 5+ years’ experience using Python, Scala, Pyspark and/or ​SQL ​
  • 5+ years’ experience with Cloud technologies (especially Microsoft Azure)

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience in the following technologies:
    • Advanced proficiency in ​Python, Scala, Pyspark and/or ​SQL ​for data ​processing and application ​development
    • Experience working with Azure services, including Azure Containers and Delta Tables
    • Experience working with cloud-based data services, including AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Data Factory
    • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks on the Azure platform
    • Experience using Unity Catalog features in Databricks
    • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps, including GitHub Actions
    • Hands-on experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a preference for Azure
  • Lead ​​end-to-end design and implementation of ​scalable data ​pipelines ​and a medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold ​layers) for ​structured and unstructured ​data
  • Optimize ​Spark jobs for performance ​and cost-efficiency using advanced techniques such ​as partitioning, caching, ​cluster ​configuration tuning, ​and ​troubleshooting ​bottlenecks.
  • Implement ​data security strategies, ​compliance standards, ​and governance frameworks like Unity ​Catalog, ​including managing ​access controls, encryption, ​and data lineage.
