Job description

At Charged Monkey, we are a team of talented and experienced game makers. Our ambitions are huge, and only a world‑class team could achieve them. To date, we’ve built a team of incredibly talented individuals from all over the world, who together are bringing industry‑defining games to life.

We embrace AI‑forward development practices and expect our engineers to be curious and pragmatic about how these tools can raise the bar.

In partnership with SCOPELY, one of the biggest gaming studios worldwide (known for IPs like StarTrek™Fleet Command, MONOPOLY GO!, etc.), we are in the early stages of development on an ambitious, unannounced, cross‑platform Strategy/MMO title.

Do you want to be a part of talented and passionate game makers to join us on this exciting journey?

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Unity Tools Engineer to help drive the development of essential tools used by our design and content teams to bring our game to life. You will work closely with the Product Team, Game Designers, and both Backend and Client Engineers to deliver robust, efficient, and intuitive tools that empower content creation across our platform.

As a Senior Tools Engineer, you will be a key technical contributor in building and evolving our internal toolchain. You will collaborate closely with Designers, Artists, Technical Artists, Engineers, and Production to ensure our tools are scalable, intuitive, and aligned with the needs of a live, cross‑platform game.

This is a high‑impact role requiring strong technical expertise, collaboration skills, and a passion for empowering creators through great tooling. Join our team, based in Prague or Bratislava, on a hybrid basis.

What will you do?
  • Contribute and own the development and evolution of internal tools from concept to deployment.
  • Propose and implement improvements to our development processes, workflows and tools to increase efficiency, quality and throughput.
  • Improve and maintain asset pipelines and content integration workflows.
  • Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to identify workflow bottlenecks and deliver practical, scalable solutions.
  • Build automation systems to improve reliability, validation, and consistency across content production.
  • Ensure tools are maintainable, performant, and aligned with production schedules and milestones.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and perform code reviews to uphold high engineering standards.
  • Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows in your daily work — from tech planning, code generation and review to exploring novel solutions.
  • Advocate for strong usability and user experience in internal tool development.
  • Provide technical guidance and share best practices with other engineers and content creators.
What we’re looking for?
  • Strong professional experience in tools development within the game industry.
  • Proven experience building production‑ready tools in Unity using C#.
  • Deep knowledge of Unity Editor scripting (custom editors, property drawers, editor windows, scriptable objects, asset database, serialization, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of asset pipelines, content workflows, and integration processes.
  • Hands‑on experience working with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code) and an understanding of how agentic workflows can augment engineering productivity.
  • Experience working closely with non‑technical stakeholders (designers, artists, production).
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals (architecture, maintainability, performance, debugging).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate production needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Passion for building intuitive tools that empower creative teams.
Bonus Points
  • Experience designing scalable content validation and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and build pipeline integration for Unity projects.
  • Experience working on cross‑platform or live‑service titles.
  • Knowledge of version control systems and large‑scale asset management workflows.
  • Experience mentoring other engineers or contributing to technical direction within a team.

We’d love to hear from you! Please contact us via the application form.

PLS NOTE: Candidates from foreign countries are also welcome. However relocation to one of our employing entities is required. At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are already authorized to work in the EU and do not require visa or work permit sponsorship.
