Description

The Global Infrastructure and Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, stability, security, and recoverability of the company’s global IT infrastructure across on‑premises and Microsoft Azure cloud environments. This role owns core infrastructure, identity, network, and disaster recovery platforms, ensuring systems are secure, highly available, and resilient.

This position serves as the technical owner of key platforms, including Nutanix virtualization, Microsoft Azure infrastructure, Unitrends backup and disaster recovery, FortiGate firewalls and wireless, Aruba switching, and Microsoft Active Directory. A strong emphasis is placed on business continuity, disaster recovery (BC/DR), cloud integration, identity services, and network security.

The Global Infrastructure and Systems Engineer partners closely with security, application, and service desk teams to lead infrastructure and cloud initiatives, enforce standards, strengthen resilience, and ensure uninterrupted business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate global hybrid infrastructure across on‑premises and Azure, including virtualization, storage, replication, and capacity planning
  • Design, implement, and test backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for on‑prem and cloud workloads to meet RPO/RTO objectives
  • Serve as technical owner for Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID integration, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, and RADIUS, enforcing authentication and access controls
  • Own and manage enterprise networking (LAN/WAN/VPN/Wireless) supporting both on‑prem and Azure connectivity
  • Manage FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and secure hybrid connectivity
  • Lead troubleshooting and recovery for critical infrastructure, cloud, identity, and network incidents
  • Maintain infrastructure and cloud security, patching, monitoring, and documentation
  • Act as a senior escalation point and provide technical leadership across infrastructure and cloud projects

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure or systems engineering experience
  • Strong hands‑on expertise in virtualization, BC/DR, and backup/recovery
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, and identity services
  • Proven experience with FortiGate firewalls, wireless, VPNs, and enterprise networking
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and disaster recovery principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and cross‑team communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with FortiGate security features, such as SD‑WAN
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, including hybrid identity or hybrid networking scenarios
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging platforms for proactive alerting and root cause analysis
  • Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell or similar tools to improve infrastructure operations and consistency
  • Relevant technical certifications are a plus, such as:
  • Fortinet (NSE or equivalent)
  • Microsoft (Windows Server Administrator, Identity and Access Administrator)
