Job description

RN - Telemetry

Tele RN needed for Day Shift. Certification requirements include CA RN License, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI. Weekend requirements are EOW and whenever the need of unit is. On call is as needed. Experience required includes 3+ years of RN telemetry experience and 6 months travel experience. Floating may occur to other units within scope of practice or to Summit or Herrick Campus. The expectation is for all travel nurses to be flexible with floating to different campuses or within the hospital. Travelers can anticipate a notice of 1.5 hours prior to shift start time in most cases. There is a shuttle provided if floating is requested.

Previous charge experience is preferred. Required charting system name is Epic. Community hospital experience is preferred. LTAC, trauma level I, and trauma level II experience are not required. Travel experience is required. Skills include accessing/managing ports, bipap/cpap management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes-emerson/pleurevac, craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), feeding tube care and management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of dysrhythmias, intracranial bleeds, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, manage cardiac drips-no titration, manage vasoactive drips-no titration, management of dysrhythmias, MS/Tele, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, pacemakers/temporary/permanent, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post neurosurgery, renal failure, seizure disorders, sheath removal, skin grafts, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry, telemetry-on the unit monitoring, telemetry-remote monitoring, thrombolytic agents, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips, total joint replacement, tracheostomy care/management, use of rapid response/code teams, wound care/wound vac.

Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census is 20. Number of visits per day is 20. Number of rooms is 30. Number of beds is 30. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretary. Patient diagnoses are not specified. Special procedures/unit details include the possibility of floating to med surg and the Oakland campus. Special equipment is not specified.

Travel compliance RTO only one holiday will be approved. Requires specific amount of experience-2 years required for submission. Must be available to go in for lab work within 3-5 days of signing. Valid state license required at time of submission. 50 miles travel requirement; locals accepted at local rate. Copy of certifications required. All certs must be AHA and in hand at the time of the submittal. Specific charting experience required-Epic experience preferred. Background policy to be noted prior to submission. Please state if they have any BG hits or DUIs. They just need to know prior to submission. Return staff policy-gone 1 year to return as traveler. Work history verification: 7-year work history verification required for all candidates. Candidates must provide accurate work history information going back 7 years from their start date and may also be required to provide documentation or contacts for the verifications if we are unable to verify any positions. Modules are non-billable, average 1-5 hours spent on modules and are factored in NBO. Any time spent on modules exceeding the 16 NBO hours are billable. Modules are completed during orientation, and module hours vary by specialty. Modules are recorded through e-learning.
