Job Summary (Unit Clerk, Emergency Department)
  • Aberdeen, WA 98520 
- $25/hr on W2
- Perform reception and secretarial duties at the nurse’s station under the supervision of the Unit Charge RN or House Supervisor.
- Serve as the primary communication source for the patient care unit.
- Complete clerical tasks including answering phones, managing records, and data entry using basic computer and keyboard skills.
- Ensure accurate documentation with clear handwriting and correct spelling, grammar, and arithmetic.
- Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and positive interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Prioritize duties and multitask effectively; work both independently and as a team member.
- Operate and maintain equipment necessary for Unit Clerk functions, including staff pagers.
- Apply basic medical terminology and understand hospital protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Sit for extended periods and work efficiently under stressful conditions.
- Meet unit-specific criteria and requirements as directed.
- Preferred: One year of hospital Unit Clerk experience or graduation from an approved Secretary program; high school diploma or equivalent.

- Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
