Job description

Job Summary

Meets with customers and contractors to plan, design and estimate proposed construction of new services, mainline extensions, and other capital and maintenance projects. Acts as a liaison between company and outside agencies such as City, County, and State governments. Compiles information for the completion of various documents and reports associated with construction & maintenance of gas pipelines. Work in GIS, Workflow Manager, and Oracle. Must become familiar with all applicable laws, codes, and regulations that pertain to construction, maintenance, and service in the gas utility industry. Manage warehouse functions (where applicable). Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

Review, set-up and make contact with customers/contractors when receiving new application for services, new construction plans, etc.

Stake meter locations, take measurements and process invoice if needed for billing, schedule proposed installation of service line.

Estimate the cost of distribution system modifications such as main line extensions, relocations, and any new installations needed for various types of projects.

  • Attend pre-construction meetings, job-site coordination meetings, and subdivision walk-through's prior to construction.

  • Create and complete all steps for setting up a new task in ArcFM Designer Workflow.

  • Complete and processes all paperwork associated with services or mains needed for all various departments for review and inputting into GIS.
  • Obtain permits and right-of-way information from City, County, and State agencies.

Acts as a liaison and resolve problems and complaints from contractors, customers, employees, and local government agencies, for the company.

Perform related tasks associated with warehouse related duties, such as issuing, returns and receiving, and operating a forklift.

Created requisitions for payments to vendors and complete any documentation as needed such as (MSA, SOW, CSA, etc.)

Processes refunds for non-utility payments as needed through e-vouchers.

Assign accounting to invoices for payment and complete the invoice for payment in the computer base system.

Process and complete General Plant Work Orders.

Work in the GIS System and operate Line locating equipment.

  • Verify and process completion of as-built, stub cards and any other documentation that is required per our construction standards.

  • All work to be done according to company safety standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Additional Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with GIS preferred. Knowledge in areas of engineering and accounting concepts a plus. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. This job requires some after hours and weekend call out duties. Must possess a valid AZ Drivers license. The incumbent may be required to perform an operational, maintenance and/or emergency function. Such function may be in a safety sensitive role during the course of the calendar year and might include receiving and acting upon product release calls.

Qualified applicants will be given a written test and must get 75% or better to proceed in the interview process.
