Job description

Make a meaningful impact by providing personalized instruction and support to a 6th-grade student with a visual impairment in a dynamic educational setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to use your expertise as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) in a role crafted for flexibility and collaboration.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia PSC certification with a valid Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement
  • Demonstrated understanding of accessible instruction, assistive technology, and accommodations for students with visual impairments
  • Experience working with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and tailoring support to meet unique student needs
  • Strong ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills to provide consultation and regular updates

Major Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct specialized instruction for a 6th-grade student in accordance with established IEP goals
  • Conduct two individual 30-minute sessions per month, adapting lesson materials to ensure accessibility
  • Consult with educational teams on strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology to fully support the student's learning environment
  • Monitor and document progress, communicating with relevant school staff and maintaining compliance with IEP requirements
  • Advocate for and contribute to the student’s ongoing access and engagement in all academic activities

This part-time contract provides the unique opportunity to make a personal difference in a student’s educational journey while maintaining a manageable and predictable schedule.
